Local Sounds ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website localsounds.com.au and the Local Sounds Radio platform, including associated mobile applications. Account & Profile Information

  • Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Profile photo, biography, location, and social media links if you set up an artist profile or Electronic Press Kit (EPK).
  • If you sign in via Google or another third-party provider, we receive basic profile information from that provider as permitted by your account settings.

Artist & Music Submissions

  • Music files, artwork, Radio IDs, and associated metadata submitted for airplay consideration or playlisting.
  • Genre, instrumentation, and other descriptive information you provide about your music.
  • Gig details, venue information, and event listings you create on the platform.

Payment Information

  • When you purchase services such as Amplified campaigns, advertising packages, or other premium features, your payment is processed securely by Stripe.
  • We do not store your full credit card number. Stripe provides us with a token reference and basic transaction details (amount, date, last four digits of card).
  • Stripe's privacy policy applies to the processing of your payment data: stripe.com/au/privacy.

Spotify Integration

  • If you connect your Spotify account, we access publicly available artist data such as follower counts, streaming statistics, and top tracks to display on your artist profile and Artist Pulse reports.
  • We do not access your private Spotify listening history or playlists without your explicit permission.

Usage & Technical Data

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited.
  • Radio listening activity, including which streams or stations you tune into and for how long.
  • Device identifiers when you use our mobile applications.
  • Interaction data such as searches, track plays, likes, and follows.

Communications

  • Messages you send us through our contact form or email.
  • Your newsletter subscription preferences.
  • Feedback, survey responses, or support requests you submit.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account and artist profile.
  • Evaluate and process music submissions for radio airplay and playlisting.
  • Deliver and improve our radio streaming, discovery, and promotional services.
  • Process payments for Amplified campaigns, advertising, and other premium services.
  • Generate Artist Pulse reports, trending charts, and personalised intelligence using your platform data.
  • Create Social Studio assets using your profile and platform metrics.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, booking receipts, submission updates) via SendGrid.
  • Send newsletters and promotional communications where you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Improve platform features through aggregated analytics and AI-assisted tools powered by OpenAI.
  • Comply with our legal obligations under Australian law.
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with third parties only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the platform, including Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email delivery), OpenAI (AI-powered features), and cloud hosting providers. These parties are contractually bound to use your data only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Spotify: If you connect your Spotify account, data is shared between our platform and Spotify in accordance with Spotify's terms and your authorisation.
  • Industry Partners: For Amplified campaign clients, we may share your artist information with playlist curators, music bloggers, and industry contacts as part of the agreed promotional service. We will always inform you of this as part of the campaign scope.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose your information to comply with our legal obligations.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, your information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience on our platform. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences and understand how you use our site.

We use cookies for:

  • Keeping you logged in to your account.
  • Remembering your preferences such as region, genre interests, and radio station selections.

Music files and submissions that have been broadcast on Local Sounds Radio may remain in our archived logs for broadcast reporting purposes, but will not be publicly associated with your account after deletion.

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete personal information.

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites and services, including Spotify, iHeartRadio, YouTube, and social media platforms.
